We not only thank our Montessori families, we thank the wider community for the incursions within the Montessori Journey that extend the children’s learning. Feel free to find out more on our Facebook page.

Police Dogs

We had a visit from QPS. They brought along Nellie and Nieve, 18-month-old pups, and Koda, a 6-year-old police dog. They all enjoyed many pats from the children.

Jacaranda Magic

We had Dannika Patterson, a parent and author of Jacaranda Magic, read her book to all the children. She also showed the children her draft copies and the process of an author, illustrator, and publisher. The children were all captivated by it all. If you have the book and want it signed please bring it to the kindy.

Indigenous Dancing

We had the Brisbane Bayside College Indigenous dancers came and performed for us. They did a great job and we all throughly enjoyed it.

Thank you to Ivy and Fraser’s Mum for bringing in x-rays. The children guessed which part of the body the x-ray belonged to then, for a challenge there were x-rays of different objects, and the children matched these as well.

Queensland Fire and Rescue visit

We had Queensland Fire and Rescue come for a visit to Montessori. They showed us all the different equipment that they carry and then every child had a turn at using the hose. It was a great morning.

Railway Safety

We had QLD rail visited Montessori, they talked to us about safety around trains. We learnt that trains are fast, heavy and hard to stop and “behind the line is fine” when waiting at the train station.
